1. How can I prevent the fading of my dark clothes?

Add a cup of white distilled vinegar or salt to the rinse water to prevent the fabric from fading. Detergent residue dulls fabrics. Be careful not to over wash them.

2. How do you get dingy white clothes white again?

Other than bleach, you can use baking soda or borax to whiten your clothes

3. What are ‘delicates’ in laundry?

Delicate clothes are the ones that need extra care as they can easily be damaged. They include lingerie, silk, lace and chiffon.

4. Why do my clothes smell bad after washing?

There are many reasons for your clothes to smell bad such as;

  • Using too much or too little detergent
  • Leaving your clothes in the washer for long after a cycle has finished
  • Dirty washing machine
5. What causes yellow stains on white clothes?

Yellow stains are caused by a combination of sweat and elements found in deodorants and antiperspirants. It can also come from previously untreated stains.

6. Can you use machine to wash ‘dry cleaning only’ clothes?

No. if your clothes are labeled ‘dry-clean only’ it means it’s too delicate to be exposed to water and agitation. Always follow the instructions on the care label.

7. Should you wash white clothes separately?

Yes. Mixing your whites with coloured fabrics causes dye to transfer or bleed out from the coloured clothes to whites.

8. How much can I cram into my dryer before I exceed the capacity?

Overloading your dryer can cause it to breakdown. When the drum is too full, the clothes can’t circulate and dry properly. Just fill two-thirds of your dryer for light clothes and halfway for heavy clothes.
